I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Sherry Tsai and her team. Everyone in the office is warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, which made the entire process very comfortable. I recently had custom whitening trays made, and I was impressed by how quick and easy everything was. From the impressions to receiving the trays, the process was seamless and efficient. Dr. Tsai and her staff were professional, knowledgeable, and made sure all of my questions were answered. Another bonus is the convenient location right off El Camino Real, and street parking was surprisingly easy, making visits stress-free. It’s refreshing to find a dental office that combines expertise with such a caring and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend Dr. Tsai and her team for anyone looking for excellent dental care and outstanding service!

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this dental office, and I want to share what happened so others can make informed decisions. Before my crown procedure, Dr. Tsai briefly told me that my tooth (#30), a back molar, “had too much filling” and therefore needed a crown. That was the full extent of the explanation. There was no discussion of critical risks such as nerve exposure, significant postoperative pain, or the possibility of needing a root canal — all of which are essential parts of informed consent for this type of procedure. After she placed the temporary crown, she told me I “might be in pain for a few days, but it will subside.” Based on that reassurance, I expected normal, mild discomfort. Instead, four to five days later, the pain escalated severely, and that is when I reached out to her office. However, in her email response, she stated that I should have contacted them sooner — even though she had specifically told me that the pain would subside within a few days. This contradiction felt dismissive and placed blame on me rather than acknowledging the severity of the situation. When I raised concerns, Dr. Tsai became defensive and referenced the consent form I signed. But a consent form does not replace an individualized explanation of risks, alternatives, and expectations, which she NEVER provided. Because of the inadequate communication and the trauma to the tooth during the crown preparation, I experienced excruciating pain for days. I had to take so much pain medication that I developed stomach issues. This affected my job, my daily routines, and even pre-holiday events because I have been unable to chew normally just two weeks before Christmas. The endodontist they referred me to did not have availability for nearly a week, leaving me to continue suffering. While scheduling is out of their control, the need for a root canal was caused by the crown procedure, which I was never warned was a possibility. After all this, I discovered additional concerns. Even though this office is in-network with Delta Dental, they suggested that I pay the entire treatment cost upfront in Cash or Venmo, with the explanation that I would be reimbursed later after insurance paid them. Not only is this not standard practice for in-network providers, but Delta Dental guidelines indicate that this type of full cash-upfront arrangement is not appropriate. It was presented as if they were “helping me save money,” but in reality it placed an unnecessary financial burden on me. I also reviewed other patient comments and realized my experience was not isolated. Another patient reported that her previously healthy tooth needed a root canal after following Dr. Tsai’s recommendations. My tooth was stable before treatment, and it deteriorated quickly afterward — a nearly identical situation. Overall, the lack of proper communication, the contradictory and defensive responses, the severe pain and stomach issues I endured, the questionable billing practices, and the irreversible damage to my tooth have left me deeply concerned. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dentist to anyone.

Dr. Tsai is by far the most exceptional dentist I’ve ever had. Over the years, I’ve seen many dentists due to frequent moves, and I’ve never been someone who enjoys dental visits—until I met Dr. Tsai. Her skill, precision, and genuine care completely changed my perspective. She has an incredibly gentle touch. I didn’t feel any pain during the numbing injection, which is usually the part I dread most. Even more impressive, the timing of the anesthesia is perfect—it takes effect exactly when needed and wears off just as the procedure ends. I was lucky to have my dental implants done by her, and the entire process was smooth, comfortable, and surprisingly stress-free. What truly sets Dr. Tsai apart is her commitment to patient education. Whether I’m there for a routine cleaning or something more involved, she always takes the time to explain my dental condition in detail. She never pushes unnecessary procedures and instead lays out all available options, offering her honest opinion while respecting my decisions. Her transparency and professionalism are refreshing, and her entire team is just as impressive—friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. If you’re looking for a dentist who is highly skilled, trustworthy, and genuinely cares, I cannot recommend Dr. Tsai enough.

I went to Dr. Tsai for a TMJ orthotic. I am so happy with my orthotic! It fits so well. She was amazing. Walked me through the entire process. The entire staff is wonderful. I even received a follow up call from Judy to see how I was doing and answer any questions.
