Dentists of Silver Spring

My husband and I have moved to the DMV area for about a year and the transitioning of care has been smoothly. Destinee has been so kind in the office of explaining detail billing and assisting with navigating appointments due to my busy schedule with work and as a full time student. She was find availability that wouldn’t effect both work and school. She was kind, patient, understanding and helped me with grace.

Poorly organized and a lot of turnover. I have had to get a new dentist due to past ones leaving multiple times. Frequently I am forgotten about when I check in waiting for up to an hour. I will be given no information about the condition of my teeth and then the next appointment be given information I should have heard months ago. I will have people check my teeth and then have to call someone else in to do the whole thing over again. I come here solely out of convenience to where I live, could not recommend.

Dr. Lin performed my cleaning today and she was excellent. She really took the time to explain things, and you can tell she truly cares for her patients. This was truly the best cleaning I have ever had and I cannot thank her enough!

This is a great dentist’s office. I came in very stressed about not taking as good care of my teeth as recommended. Prentice took great care of me and helped me feel at very at ease. Great services overall too.

Dr. Thomas is a phenomenal dentist, and the entire team is very professional and pleasant as well. I am especially impressed with the state of the art imaging and same day treatments for many dental issues. Dr. Thomas takes time to explain issues in depth. Excellent team!!

I really like Dr Thomas! She explains things really well and the staff is great. Dr. Thomas has done a great job helping me keep my teeth clean and healthy. I appreciate that she walks through all the treatments, especially when there is an extra cost associated with them, so I’m not surprised at the end.

I used to be a patient at this office, but after what I believe was malpractice related to my orthodontic treatment, I completely lost trust in their professionalism. One of the most concerning issues was that the same tooth had to be retreated, and I was charged again approximately $1,300 for the procedure. I spoke directly with the office manager, Sandra Escoto, hoping for a reasonable explanation or resolution, but none was provided. Instead, the situation was handled as if it were somehow my fault which is extremely concerning given that this was a deep procedure performed by the doctor. In addition, during routine cleaning visits, I consistently felt pressured to pay for extra services. I was often told I wasn’t maintaining proper oral hygiene, but these claims were never clearly explained—just presented in a way that pushed me to approve additional charges. After contacting my insurance company, I confirmed that my regular cleanings were fully covered. This raised serious concerns, as it seemed I was being charged extra without proper explanation or clear consent. Because of these experiences, I will never return to this office and do not recommend it at all. I strongly advise others to be cautious and fully understand what they are being charged for before agreeing to any treatment.

I had a great experience with Dr. Thomas. Destinee is great. Dae and Jordan are awesome too. First the cons. Since the pros outweigh them. The copay is pretty high. I don’t know, maybe I just didn’t realize dentistry costs this much. Maybe that’s on me for not researching or shopping around, if that’s even possible lol. But I definitely didn’t expect thousands in copay. Now that said, the people there are top notch. Starting with Destinee. She really knows her stuff when it comes to insurance and was amazing to communicate with. Pay that woman lol. Jordan and Dae were great too. They have an amazing approach to patient care and interaction. And finally Dr. Thomas. 5 star bedside manners. Knows her stuff. Explains everything clearly. I definitely felt heard. My only real con is the pricing on the provider side after insurance and just how expensive dental care is overall. That feels more like a system issue than anything else it seems though! All in all I would give it a 4.5 stars out of 5. Taking half a point off for pricing.
